Do Your Own Business

No. 1- H- 4 Ram Mohan Bera Lane is a small place. You have to look closely at the numbers to find us. Do Your Own Business is a name that some people find funny, but it’s just what we called it. The office is basically one main room with a smaller one in the back for storage. We have a lot of files and some old computers that still work well enough. The lane is narrow, so you can't really bring a big car down here without a struggle. We usually walk or take a cycle. Inside, it’s a bit dark because the buildings are so close together. We have a few lamps to help out. We spend our time helping people figure out their own small ventures. It’s not a big consultancy or anything like that. It’s just us sharing what we know over a cup of tea. There’s a cat that hangs around the entrance, and we sometimes give it some milk. The neighborhood is full of people who have lived here for decades. It feels very local. We don't have a receptionist, so if the door is open, you just walk in and say hello. It’s a very informal way of doing things, but it works for us. We just take it one day at a time in this little lane. It gets the job done and keeps us busy enough throughout the week.
