Disha Institute

Disha Institute is located out on Netaji Subhas Road in the 700131 area. We are near a place called Jhinukbari, which is how most people describe where we are. This part of Kolkata is a mix of old and new, and the road can get pretty congested during the middle of the day. Our institute is not in a flashy new building; it is a more traditional structure. We have several rooms that we use for different groups. The walls are painted a simple off-white and we have some basic benches for people to sit on. It is a very no-nonsense kind of place. We open the shutters early in the morning and the air is usually a bit cooler then. By noon, it gets quite warm, so we have the fans going constantly. We have a small desk at the front where we keep the registers and some pens. Most of the people who come here are from the surrounding neighborhood, so it has a very local feel. We do not have a website or anything like that, we just rely on the fact that we have been on Netaji Subhas Road for a while. The Jhinukbari landmark is really the key to finding us if you are not from this specific part of town. It is just a place where we do our daily tasks and try to keep everything organized. There is nothing fancy about it, just a plain and simple institute for local folks.
