D S Kar Foundation

Our office is up on the 14th floor of the Chatterjee International Center. If you have ever been to J L Nehru Road, you know how crowded it gets outside with all the traffic and people rushing around. Inside flat number 514, it is a bit quieter, though you can still hear the city hum. We have been here at D S Kar Foundation for a bit, working away at our desks every morning. It is a typical office space with papers stacked here and there. We do not really go for anything flashy or expensive. Most days involve a lot of phone calls and paperwork. The lift sometimes takes forever because the building is so tall and there are so many other offices here too. It is a central spot though, which makes it easier for people to reach us if they are in the city. We keep the place running as best as we can. Sometimes the air conditioning is a bit too cold, so we have to adjust it ourselves. We are not doing anything groundbreaking, just keeping the foundation's daily tasks on track. There is a lot to do every week. Most of us have been working together for a while now so we know the routine. It is just a regular workplace in a busy part of Kolkata. We mostly just focus on getting through the pile of work on our desks without making a fuss.
