Calcutta Engineering Works

Calcutta Engineering Works is over at P 147 in Senhati Colony. Behala is a crowded place so getting things delivered can be a bit of a headache sometimes with the narrow lanes. We have got our machines set up in the shop and it is mostly just the sound of lathes and drills going all day. The floor is concrete and usually has some oil spots on it from the older equipment. We do not have a fancy reception area. If someone comes in, they usually just walk right up to where we are working. We do engineering jobs as they come in. It might be a small part or something a bit bigger. The air in Behala has that specific smell of a busy neighborhood. We have lived and worked around here long enough to know everyone on the street. It is a simple setup. We do not use much technology for the office side of things, mostly just notebooks and pens. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit. We spend our mornings setting up the tools and our evenings cleaning up the metal shavings. It is steady work. We do not try to be anything we are not. It is just an engineering shop in a quiet corner of the colony where we get through the daily list of tasks. The walls are a bit faded but they hold up the roof just fine. We just keep going every day and try to stay organized among the clutter.
