You can find Calcom Cement India Ltd on the second floor of the building at 51-L Pottery Road. This part of Kolkata has a lot of history, and the building itself has been around for quite some time. Walking up those two flights of stairs every morning definitely keeps us awake. The office is tucked away, so it’s a bit quieter than being right on the street level, which is nice when we have to focus on the accounts. Cement is what we do, and even though we aren't at the factory, we deal with the fallout of everything that happens there. There are stacks of files everywhere because we haven't quite moved everything over to the digital system yet. It works for us, though, as we can find what we need quickly. The fan in the main room wobbles a little bit on high speed, but it’s been doing that for years without failing. We know the other tenants in the building, and we usually exchange nods in the hallway. Sometimes the rains make the windows rattle, but we just keep working through it. It’s a busy life keeping track of all the loads and payments. We don't put on any acts here; it’s just a group of people trying to make sure the business runs as smoothly as possible given the daily challenges.
