Burnpur Cement Limited is located in Salt Lake, specifically at Fe-515 in Sector-III. If you have been to Kolkata, you know Salt Lake is a bit more organized than the rest of the city. Our building is easy to spot in the FE block. It’s a quiet enough street most days, which is nice when you’re trying to focus on numbers and logistics. The office itself is pretty basic. We’ve got a front desk that usually has a stack of newspapers on it and some chairs for visitors who are waiting. Most of our day is spent coordinating things over the phone or sending out emails. Since we deal with cement, there’s always talk about construction and sites, but the office here is mostly about the administration side of things. It stays fairly cool inside because of the trees outside the window, which is a relief in the summer. We have a small pantry where someone is usually making tea or heating up lunch. The vibe is pretty relaxed. We aren't trying to impress anyone with expensive decor or fancy slogans. It is just a place where we work. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we all complain for a bit, then get back to it once it's fixed. We keep the files organized as best as we can, even though the folders are getting a bit old. It’s just how we run things here in this part of town. We usually lock up by six.
