Blueberries Steel & Concrete Private Limited

The traffic on Diamond Harbour Road can be a real headache, and being at 37/2, we see it all day. Blueberries Steel & Concrete is right in the thick of it. We deal with heavy stuff, so there is always a crane or a loader moving something around the yard. The concrete side of things is pretty time-sensitive, so we are always checking our watches. It gets loud with the mixers going. We have a small office where we keep the records, but mostly we are outside checking the steel rods or the bags of cement. The air smells like wet stone and exhaust. We’ve had some long days when a big order comes in and we stay late to make sure everything is loaded up right. The guys wear heavy gloves because the steel gets sharp and the concrete is rough. It’s not a glamorous job. We have coffee in chipped mugs and talk about the weekend while we wait for the next driver to show up. Sometimes the gate gets stuck or the yard gets cramped, and we have to shuffle everything around like a puzzle. We don't have any fancy signs or big marketing flyers. We just have our yard and our materials. It’s a busy place with a lot of heavy lifting. Most of us have been working together for years now and we just keep the business moving.
