Bengal Trans And Queer Foundation

We operate out of Khudirampally, which is near Banarhat. The place belongs to Kaunish Dey Sarkar, and that’s where we have the Bengal Trans And Queer Foundation set up. It’s a modest house in a quiet part of the neighborhood. We don't have a big office building or any fancy signs hanging out front. It’s just a home where we can sit down and get things done. Being in a place like Banarhat means everyone knows each other, so we don't really need to advertise where we are. We have a couple of desks and some chairs for when people come over to talk. It is a bit cramped sometimes, but it gets the job done. We aren't looking to be some huge organization with branches everywhere. We just like having a safe, simple space to work from. The tea is always hot, and the conversations are usually about the everyday things we need to fix or organize. We don't use corporate jargon or have big meetings with slides. It’s more about sitting around the table and figuring out the next step. Sometimes the local dogs make a lot of noise outside, but that’s just part of living and working here. We just do our work and try to be helpful in our own small way. It’s an honest way to spend the day.
