The Bdl Smilechild Foundation has its main office set up here. Being so close to the airport means we hear the planes going by pretty often, but you get used to that after a few days. Kaikhali is a busy part of town, and Ward 10 has a lot of families and small shops. Our spot in Bimannagar isn't hard to find if you know the airport side of Kolkata. We do all our work from this building. It’s got a few rooms where we keep our records and have our meetings. There’s always someone coming or going, usually someone from the neighborhood or someone coming from further out in Kolkata. We’ve been at 55/26 for some time now. It’s a practical location for the Bdl Smilechild Foundation. We aren't tucked away in some big corporate tower; we are right here on the street level where everything happens. The mail comes through the local post office and life moves fast. We’ve got some basic furniture and some fans to keep the heat down during the summer months. It’s a working office, nothing more, nothing less. We just try to get through our tasks every day and keep the foundation running smoothly for everyone involved in Ward 10. It is a lot of work, but we are here every morning.
