Amit Dey

My name is Amit Dey and I work out of 4 E, Kalitara Bose Lane. It’s right near the old Alo Chaya Cinema in the 700010 area of Kolkata. If you know the neighborhood, you know it’s a bit of a tight squeeze in some of these lanes. I’ve lived and worked around here for most of my life. My workspace isn’t anything special to look at. It’s just a room with my stuff in it where I handle whatever comes my way. Being near the cinema means there’s always some noise and people moving about. I like the energy of the lane. It’s an old part of the city, and the buildings have that worn-in look. I don’t have a staff or a big sign outside. Usually, it’s just me and maybe a neighbor dropping in for a chat while I’m busy. I started this because I needed something to do locally. The address is easy to find once you get to the cinema landmark. I keep things pretty simple. No fancy computers or expensive furniture here. Just a wooden table and a chair that’s seen better days. It gets the job done though. I handle things as they come, day by day. Sometimes the rain makes the lane a bit messy, but that’s just how it is in Kolkata. I’m usually here from morning till evening. It’s a basic life and a basic way of working, and I’m fine with that.
