Ambuja Cements Ltd.

Our office is located inside the Parijat Co-Operative Housing Society, over in Sector-2A, F-1, in Bidhannagar. Being in a residential area like this in Durgapur makes for a different kind of workday. It’s quieter than being on a main highway, but we still keep very busy with the cement business for Ambuja Cements Ltd. We’ve turned this space into a working hub. Most of the time, it's just a few of us sitting around desks, checking the delivery schedules and talking to customers on the phone. We don't have any fancy posters or a slick lobby. It feels more like a home office than a corporate branch. We know the neighbors, and they know us. Sometimes we have to remind the delivery drivers to be careful on the society roads. We handle all the local distribution from here. It’s a lot of writing things down in big registers and making sure the numbers match up at the end of the day. The tea lady comes by once in the morning and once in the afternoon, which is usually the highlight of our quiet hours. We just focus on getting the cement to the sites where it’s needed. There’s no need for big speeches or marketing talk. We just do the work, keep the records straight, and head home when the sun goes down. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day in Durgapur.
