Ambuja Cements Ltd

Our place is at 44/C M.C. Garden Road in Kolkata. It is one of those parts of town where the streets are a bit narrow and the buildings are mostly old. Ambuja Cements Ltd has us stationed here to keep an eye on things in this particular neighborhood. The office is basically just a small room where we keep the records and take down the orders. It is usually quite humid, so we keep the windows open even if it means a lot of noise comes in from the street. We are not here to sell you a dream or a lifestyle; we are just here to move cement. People come in with their requirements, and we see what we can do to help them out. Some days are slow, and we spend time chatting with the neighbors or the guy who sells tea nearby. Other days, it is a total scramble with everyone wanting their delivery at the exact same time. We do not use fancy words or corporate talk with anyone. If we have the stock in the back, we tell you. If we do not, we tell you when it is coming. It is a very direct way of working. Most of us live nearby, so this isn't just a job for us, it is our daily environment. We keep the floor swept and the paperwork mostly in order.
