Alsaaz Foundation

You can find us over at 26/12 Golam Jilani Khan Road, up on the first floor. It’s a busy street, so there is always the sound of horns and people shouting outside our windows. The space isn’t very big, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need into the rooms. We have a few old filing cabinets and some chairs for visitors. The light in the hallway is a bit dim, but once you step inside the office, it’s bright enough from the street side. We spend a lot of time here just going through documents and planning out what needs to be done next. There’s a small balcony where we keep some potted plants, though they struggle a bit with the city dust. We don’t have a big staff, so it’s usually just a couple of us handling everything from answering the phone to cleaning the floors. The tea stall downstairs is where we get our morning break most days. It’s not a fancy corporate building with a glass front, just a regular brick place where we do our work. Sometimes the neighbors from the other flats come by to complain about the noise or just to chat. We try to keep things quiet, but it’s a lively neighborhood. We’ve been in this spot for some time now and it feels like the right place for us to be located. It’s practical and easy for people to reach.
