Al-Hida Charitable Foundation

We are located in the village of Mazdiagoremari. You have to go through Pachim Mazdia to find us. Md Waz Uddin Ahmed is the person who looks after the place. It’s a rural spot, which is very different from the big cities like Kolkata. We don't have fancy office buildings or high-rise towers here. We work out of a simple house in the village. The air is fresh and there’s plenty of green space around us. We started the foundation to help the people in our village and the other areas nearby. It’s not a complicated setup at all. We just talk to people and see what they need. Sometimes it’s about fixing a small problem, other times it’s just giving some friendly advice. We don't have a computer for everyone, so we write a lot of things down in notebooks by hand. It works for us and keeps things simple. We aren't in a hurry to grow into some huge organization with a lot of offices. We like being local and knowing everyone's name. When someone comes to visit, we always offer them a seat and a glass of water. It’s the way things are done in our village. Life is simple but we stay busy with the work. We don't have a marketing plan or any fancy ads. We just do what feels right for the community we live in.
