A.H. Academy

We are located right at 55 B, Hidaram Banerjee Lane, which is in the Bowbazar area of Kolkata. If you know this part of the city, you know how busy it gets around here. It is not a very big place, just a few rooms where we sit down with the students and go through their lessons. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but they are fine for now. We started A.H. Academy because there was a need for a local spot where kids could just come and study without any extra fuss. Most days, it is just us and the sounds of the street outside. You can hear the trams and the people shouting sometimes. It gets a bit crowded in the afternoons when everyone arrives at once. We don't have a big reception desk or anything like that. Usually, someone is just sitting there with a register. We try to keep the fans moving so it stays cool enough to focus. It’s a simple setup really. People find us because they live nearby or their friends told them about this lane. We don't do much fancy stuff here. It is just about sitting down, opening the books, and trying to understand the chapters. The light in the hallway is a bit dim, but once you are inside the rooms, it is alright. We have been at this address for a bit now and it feels like home to us. It's just a regular place.
