If you head down Lane No 3 in Shahupuri, you’ll find us at 728 E J B House. Kolhapur is a city with a lot of tradition, and Shahupuri is a very active part of it. Saptapadi Events has its base here. The name Saptapadi gives you a hint that we do a lot of weddings, and in a place like Kolhapur, weddings are a big deal. Our office in J B House is where all the planning happens. It’s filled with samples of fabrics, invitation designs, and big calendars with dates circled in red. During the wedding season, this place is absolutely hectic. There are people coming in and out, phone calls every two minutes, and a lot of tea being drunk. When it’s not the busy season, it’s much quieter, and we spend our time organizing our storage or looking for new ideas. We don't have a fancy showroom. We usually just sit around a big wooden table and talk through things with families. It’s a very personal kind of business. We’ve been in Shahupuri for a while, so we know most of the local vendors and decorators. It feels more like a community than a corporate job. We just try to make sure the ceremonies go off without too much trouble. It’s a lot of pressure, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We just keep things simple and practical here in Lane No 3 and hope for the best.
