Ek Omkar Spun Pipe Industries is right on the Pune-Bangalore Road in Uchagaon. We are situated near the Ganesh Mandir, which makes it easy for people to give directions to our yard. The site is mostly open space because of the type of work we do with pipes. You’ll see stacks of finished product waiting to be loaded onto trucks. It’s a dusty environment, especially when the wind picks up off the main road. We have our casting area and the spinning machines set up under a large shed. It’s heavy work, and it keeps us on our toes all day. The guys working here have been with us for a long time and they know the process inside out. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. There’s a small room where we keep the books and take phone calls, but the real activity is outside. We deal with contractors and builders who are working on projects throughout the region. The Pune-Bangalore Road is a lifeline for us, as it lets us get our pipes out to wherever they’re needed. We don't go in for fancy talk or big promises. We just make the pipes, check they’re solid, and send them out. It’s a straightforward business and we like it that way. Every day is about managing the mix and the molds. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. We just focus on the next batch.
