If you’re in Ichalkaranji, you probably know where Narayan Talkies is. ADHYA MACHINE is right near there, in Mangalwar Peth. Specifically, we're at Plot No. 6/464/1 in Taluka Hatkanangle. It’s a busy part of town. You can hear the movies playing sometimes if the wind is right. Our shop is mostly filled with iron and steel. We do a lot of heavy lifting here. It’s just a few of us working the machines. Ichalkaranji is a hardworking place, and we try to match that energy. The floor is concrete and usually pretty cold in the winter. We’ve got some old desks in the front for the books, but mostly we’re out where the machines are. It’s dirty work. Your hands stay black with oil most of the week. We don't mind. We've been at this spot for quite some time now. People from around the Taluka come by when they need something fixed or a part made. We don't do much advertising. Most people just know we're here. We close up when the work is done, which isn't always at the same time every day. Sometimes we stay late if a machine is being stubborn. It’s just how it is. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We're just a machine shop in Mangalwar Peth, getting on with things day by day. It's a simple life but it's ours and we know the work inside out.
