About Manjunatha Brick Works – Building & Construction Material in Kolar
Manjunatha Brick Works has been sitting here on Bangarapet Road for quite some time. We are at number 25/146, right in the Malur area. If you know the road, it’s easy to find us. It’s mostly just a lot of mud, water, and fire around here. Making bricks isn’t exactly a clean job, so our clothes usually have that red tint to them by the end of the shift. We spend most of the day out in the open, watching the kilns and making sure the bricks are drying properly before they get baked. The weather is a big factor for us; if it rains, everything slows down and we have to cover the raw bricks with plastic sheets. Malur is a place known for this kind of work, so we have plenty of neighbors doing similar things, but we just focus on what’s happening in our own yard. There is always a truck idling somewhere nearby, waiting to be loaded up with a fresh batch. It’s a rhythmic kind of life. You wake up, check the fire, see how the stacks are looking, and talk to the drivers. Sometimes the Bangarapet Road gets really backed up with traffic, which makes the dust worse, but we are used to it by now. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us working with the local clay and getting the bricks out to the building sites. By the time evening rolls around, we're all pretty tired.
