Perumalil Granites & Construction

We’ve been here in Kaduthuruthy for a long while now. It’s a busy spot near Kottayam and the yard is usually full of slabs and bags of cement. People around here know the place because we’ve been at 8963 for as long as I can remember. The work is mostly about getting the right stones for houses and doing the construction part too. It’s dusty and loud most days, especially when the trucks are coming in with fresh loads of granite. We spend a lot of time just moving things around so people can see the different colors. Sometimes it’s raining hard like it does in Kerala, and we have to cover everything up quick. It’s not a fancy office or anything. We just have the desk, some chairs for when folks want to sit and talk about their building plans, and a lot of heavy material outside. My hands are always rough from the stone and the grit. Most of the guys here live close by, so we walk to work or take the bus. We don’t really do big advertisements. Mostly people just stop by because they saw the sign or heard from a neighbor that we have what they need. It’s a simple way to run a business. We start early when it’s still a bit cool and try to get the heavy lifting done before the afternoon sun gets too hot over Kottayam.
