Cochin Granite International

You’ll find us right on the National Highway Bypass in Maradu, which is part of Ernakulam. Being on the bypass means we see a lot of traffic, and it can get pretty loud with all the horns and the sound of heavy vehicles zooming past our gate. Our yard is filled with granite slabs of all different colors and patterns. We keep them standing up in rows so people can walk through and see what they like. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, and we use a small crane to move the pieces around when someone wants to see a slab that’s stuck in the middle of a pile. The weather in Ernakulam can be quite rainy, so we spend some time making sure the drainage in the yard is working okay so the slabs don't sit in puddles of muddy water. Inside the small office cabin, it’s a bit cooler thanks to a fan that’s always running on high. We keep all the measurements written down in big notebooks and try to stay on top of the orders. It’s a busy place because Maradu is growing so fast, with new buildings going up everywhere you look. We aren’t a huge corporation, just a local spot where you can look at stone and figure out what fits. Some days are long, especially when a big shipment arrives from the north, but that’s just how the stone business works on the bypass. We just try to keep things moving along.
