Getalsud Samriddhi Mahila Kisan Nirmataproducer Company Limited is based out here in Angara, specifically at the Samudayik Bhawan in Gondali Pokhar. It’s a community building where people gather, so it felt like the right spot for us to set up. We are a bunch of women farmers from the Childug and Angara areas of Ranchi. Most of us spend our mornings in the fields and then come by the hall when there is something to discuss about our crops or the tools we need. We started this because it felt like we could do more if we talked to each other instead of just working our own little patches of land. The building is simple, and sometimes it gets a bit crowded during our meetings, but we make it work somehow. It's really just a way for us local women to handle the business side of farming ourselves. We aren't experts in everything, but we know the soil in this part of Jharkhand pretty well. We deal with the day-to-day stuff like getting seeds and figuring out where to sell what we grow. It is honest work, and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. If you walk past the Samudayik Bhawan, you will probably see a few of us sitting there talking about the weather or the price of vegetables. It's just how we live and work together in this village.
