Panchanana Jena College

Panchanana Jena College is located in Kesharpur, which is part of the Khurda district. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but it’s a quiet place for a college. The campus isn't anything like those big universities you see in movies. It’s just a collection of buildings where students come for their higher education. Most of the people working here are from around Khurda. We spend our mornings opening up the offices and getting the registers ready for the day. There’s always a bit of dust on the shelves because of the local roads, so we’re constantly wiping things down. The students come from the nearby villages and towns, often arriving by bus or cycle. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. The classrooms have the basic necessities—benches, boards, and light. During exam season, the whole place gets very quiet and serious, which is a big change from the usual chatter in the hallways. We don't use any fancy language to talk about our college. It’s just a place for young people to study and get their degrees. We have a small canteen where everyone gets their tea, and that’s where most of the talk happens. It’s a simple, honest life here in Kesharpur. We just keep the doors open and do our best to help the students who come through them. We've been here for years, and we'll likely be here for many more, just doing what we do.
