Kalyanpur (Junior) Science College

We started here in Kalyanpur some time ago. Being in Puri, the weather gets quite humid, but the students don't seem to mind much. We spend most of our days in the classrooms or the small labs we have set up. It's not a huge place, just a junior college focusing on science. Most of the kids come from nearby villages or the town itself. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just open the windows and keep going. Getting here is straightforward enough since we're right in the main area. We have teachers who have been here for years and they know the families around here quite well. It’s mostly about getting the teenagers ready for their exams and seeing them move on to bigger universities later. You'll usually see a lot of bicycles parked outside in the morning. We don't have fancy carpets or anything like that. It's just plain walls and wooden benches. It feels like a real community hub where everyone knows everyone’s business. If you walk by in the afternoon, you can hear the talk from the physics or chemistry classes. We keep things simple because that's what works for us. No one puts on airs here. We just try to make sure the lessons are done and the kids learn something useful before they head home for dinner. It’s just how things are run in this part of Puri, nothing more to it.
