We are over at Plot No 47 in Shastri Nagar, right in the Sahid Nagar area. If you are standing in front of the Steel Authority of India building, you can see us. The office is a bit cramped because we have a lot of files from over the years. We’ve got a couple of old desks and some chairs that aren't the most comfortable, but they work for us. Most of the day is spent handling bookings for buses and trains. We get a lot of people walking in from the nearby offices during their lunch break just to check on prices or confirm a seat. It gets quite hot in the afternoon when the sun hits the front window, so we usually have the curtains drawn. We don't use much fancy software; we still like writing things down in our big registers. There is a tea shop nearby that brings us tea twice a day, which is the highlight of our afternoon. Working here feels like being part of the neighborhood. We know the regular commuters and the people who work across the street at SAIL. We don't have a big corporate setup with a lot of departments. It's just a local travel office where we try to keep things moving. Sometimes the printer jams or the phone line goes fuzzy, but we just laugh it off and keep going with our work. It is a simple place where we spend most of our day.
