Over in Halapodi, things are pretty quiet. We have our setup for Samakoifresh Farmers Producer Company Limited at Sailendra Pradhan’s place. Telkoi is the main area nearby. We are out in Keonjhar-Ii. It’s a beautiful part of the country with plenty of green everywhere. We started this because the farmers around here needed a way to get their fresh stuff out to people. We call it Samakoifresh because that’s what we aim for. Fresh produce straight from the fields to whoever needs it. We don’t use any big machines or fancy tech most of the time. It’s just hands-on work. Sailendra handles the day-to-day stuff at the house. We have people coming in from all the nearby villages. Sometimes the roads are a bit rough, especially when it rains heavy in the monsoon, but we manage. We aren't trying to be some huge corporation with big goals. We just want to sell what we grow and make sure everyone gets a fair price for their labor. You can find us if you head toward Halapodi. It’s a small community where everyone knows each other’s business. We spend a lot of time talking about the weather and the crops. That’s just how it is here. We are proud of what we do even if it’s just small-scale farming. It keeps us busy and it keeps the community going through the seasons and the years.
