Suniti Farmers Producer Company Limited

We started this thing called Suniti Farmers Producer Company Limited right here in Suniti. It is mostly about the local farmers coming together to make things a bit easier for everyone. We handle the crops and help each other out with getting seeds or finding people to buy what we grow. The main office is at Plot No 921/1689, which is basically at Amar Ch Mandal’s place in Benakandha. Mahakalapada is quite a distance away, but this is the spot where we actually do the work. Farming around this part of Kendrapara isn't always simple because the weather can be really unpredictable. We just try to get a fair price for the stuff we work hard to grow. It is not a big fancy office with glass windows or anything like that. It is just a few rooms where we meet up to talk about the next harvest. Some days it gets really busy with people coming in to check on their paperwork or ask questions. Other days it is quiet and we just sit. We deal with whatever the season brings to us. Orissa has some good soil, but you really have to work it hard to get anything back. Most of us have been doing this for a long time, just following what our families did before us. We made it official with the name so we could deal with the big markets better. It helps having a group. (243 words)
