Down here in Kendrapara, in the Marsaghai area, you’ll find us at the village of Podana. We use Dharani Dhar Parida’s place as our main base. Peeyush Farmers Producer Company is just what the name says—a bunch of farmers who came together. We’ve all been doing this for a long time, mostly because it’s what our families have always done. The ground here keeps us busy all year round. We deal with the heat, the rain, and all the bugs that come with farming. It isn't a glamorous life, but it is an honest one. We decided that having a company would help us when it comes to getting seeds or selling what we grow. Instead of everyone struggling on their own, we try to coordinate things a bit. It’s not a very formal thing; we usually just sit around and talk about the fields. Sometimes the harvest is great and sometimes it’s a bit lean, but that is just how farming goes. We don't use any fancy words or have big marketing plans. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields translates into a decent life for everyone involved. We know the land here in Podana very well and we just take things one day at a time. It's about working hard and looking out for each other in the village.
