We operate Aloni Nadi Kisan Producer Companylimited out of Village Khohari in the Katni area. The office is basically at Smt. Silochana Bai’s house, where her husband H C Patel helps out. Being in a village means we are right where the action is. We do not have paved roads all the way to the door, but that is just part of living in Khohari. Our work involves bringing the local farmers together. It is a lot of sitting under the shade and talking through problems. We do not have fancy computers or a big staff. It is just us and the members of the producer company. Katni is known for its stone and agriculture, and we definitely lean into the farming side. The office is just a room with some registers and a few chairs. We spend most of our time out in the fields anyway. People stop by at all hours, usually with a question about seeds or prices. We do not have a fixed "closed" sign. If we are home, we are open. It is a very personal way to run a business, but it is the only way that makes sense here. We just want to see the village do better. There is no big secret to what we do. We just work together and try to get a fair shake for everyone’s hard work. We keep things basic and focused on the neighbors around us.
