Malankara Catholic College

Malankara Catholic College is in a place called Mariagiri, near Kaliakkavilai in Kanyakumari. This is at the very tip of Tamil Nadu, and the area is full of trees. Because we are so close to the border, we get a lot of students from both Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The campus is quite large and spread out across the greenery. It is a Catholic college, so we try to maintain a very quiet and disciplined atmosphere. You can hear the birds and the wind through the trees while you are in class. We have different blocks for different subjects like science, commerce, and arts. The labs are well-used and the library is a big part of the college. Students spend a lot of time there. We have a canteen that serves basic meals and tea, which is where everyone gathers during the lunch hour. The walk to the college involves some slopes because of the terrain. Most people use the local transport to reach us. We do not have any big promotional campaigns. The college has a long history in this region, so people already know who we are. We just focus on the daily schedule of lectures and exams. The staff lives around here and we all work together to keep the place tidy. It is a peaceful place to get an education, far away from the noise of the big cities like Chennai.
