M K University has a bit of an interesting geography, being associated with Kanyakumari District but having a Chennai address in Tamil Nadu, with the pin 629176. It’s a place where books and learning are the main focus. We don't have a huge, gleaming campus with marble floors. It’s more of a traditional setting where the students and staff just get on with the day. The halls can be quite loud between classes, which is to be expected. We have been part of the educational landscape here for some time. The weather is usually quite warm, so the fans are always going in the classrooms. We don't spend a lot of time on fancy brochures or big events. Most of the work happens in the library or the lecture rooms. It’s a simple setup where the goal is just to help people learn what they need to. The staff here are locals who have been around the district for years. We see a lot of young faces coming in every year, full of energy. It’s a bit of a trek to get here if you're coming from the center of town, but the students don't seem to mind. We just keep the place running as best we can. There’s always someone asking for a form or a signature, so it’s never really quiet until the evening. We like the atmosphere of the Kanyakumari and Chennai connection, even if the distance seems long on a map.
