The Hidden Lounge

You can find us at 113/340-A in Swaroop Nagar, right near Vidya Mandir School. Being beside Sharma Nursing Home makes us pretty easy to locate if you know the landmarks in this part of Kanpur. The Hidden Lounge isn't actually hidden if you’re from around here, but it does feel like a quiet escape from the noise of the city. We put this place together piece by piece, picking out the furniture and setting up the lights ourselves. It’s a spot where people from the neighborhood come to hang out after a long day. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do. We just make sure there’s a place to sit and something to eat or drink. The walls have some marks on them from people leaning back, and the music isn’t always what everyone likes, but it’s our space. In the afternoons, you can hear the kids from the school nearby, and in the evenings, it gets a bit more crowded with adults. We handle the orders, clean the tables, and chat with the regulars who have been coming since we first opened. It’s a local business run by local people who just wanted to have a lounge in Swaroop Nagar that didn’t feel like a cold, corporate chain. It’s a bit rough around the edges, but it’s home to us. We’re just here doing our thing beside the nursing home.
