My Future Institute

The institute is at 609, Safipurramadevi, right on the Kanpur Lucknow Highway. Being on the highway means it’s never really quiet. There’s a constant stream of trucks and buses heading towards Lucknow. We’re in Harjinder Nagar, and people usually find us by looking for Dr. Devesh Pandey’s place, which is quite close. It’s a practical space. We don't have fancy decorations or plush carpets, just hard floors and sturdy desks. The sun hits the front of the building pretty hard in the afternoons, so we have to keep the curtains drawn. We spend most of our time sitting with students and going over their materials. It’s a lot of repetition. You see the same faces every day, and you get to know who is struggling with what. Sometimes the highway traffic gets backed up and the noise is incredible, but you just have to talk a bit louder. We keep a big water cooler in the corner because the heat in Kanpur can be pretty draining. There’s a lot of paperwork to keep track of, and the shelves are mostly full of old guides and practice tests. It isn’t a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We just make sure the door is open on time and that there’s enough chalk or markers for the day’s work. It’s a very straightforward way of running a place, even if it gets exhausting sometimes when the traffic is really heavy outside.
