A. K. Engineering Works

A. K. Engineering Works is located at 65/135, Moti Mahal. We’re pretty close to the Siddhartha Hotel, which is what we usually tell people when they’re trying to find us for the first time. The area around Moti Mahal is always moving. Our shop is a place where we do a lot of heavy lifting and manual work. There’s usually the sound of metal hitting metal or some kind of machine running in the background. It’s not a quiet office job, that’s for sure. We’ve got tools hanging on the walls and pieces of projects scattered around the floor. It looks a bit disorganized to an outsider, but we know exactly where everything is. The air usually smells a bit like oil and cold steel. We don’t have a fancy storefront. It’s just a big door that stays open most of the day to let the air circulate. When it rains, we have to move some things back from the entrance so they don't get wet. Being near the Siddhartha Hotel means there’s often people walking by, but mostly we just focus on the work at hand. We start early in the morning and usually don't finish until the sun is well down. It’s a tough job sometimes, but we’ve been doing it at this location for years and we’ve gotten pretty good at the routine. It’s just a simple engineering works shop for the local community.
