Mathura Engineering Corporation is located right in General Ganj. If you know the area, you know it’s a place where things actually get made and sold. We’ve been operating out of this space for quite some time now. It’s a traditional kind of setup. We don't have fancy computers on every desk; instead, we have heavy machinery and people who know how to use their hands. The air always smells a bit like oil and metal shavings. That’s just the way an engineering shop is supposed to be, I guess. We see a lot of different people coming through General Ganj every day. It’s a crowded part of town, so things can get a bit hectic during peak hours. Our floor space is usually covered in whatever project we are currently tackling. There’s always a bit of chatter among the workers, mostly about the work or what they’re having for lunch. We don't spend much on decorating the place because that’s not what we’re about. We’re about getting the engineering work done so we can move on to the next order. It’s a bit noisy and the floors are stained, but it’s our space and we’re comfortable in it. We just show up, do the hours, and make sure the machines are turned off before we head home. It’s basic, honest work in a part of the city that never really stops moving.
