Shree Khodiyar Engineers (I) Pvt. Ltd.

We are based over in Barra, Kanpur. It’s the World Bank area, quite a busy part of town. The "Pvt Ltd" part sounds big but we are really just a group of guys doing engineering work. We have been in this spot for some time. There’s always traffic outside the gate. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of grinding and metal hitting metal. We handle a lot of different projects for people around Uttar Pradesh. Sometimes we have to travel a bit for site visits. The office gets a bit dusty because of the road work nearby. We keep our files in old cabinets. It’s not a shiny place. We focus on getting the specifications right so the parts actually fit. Errors happen sometimes, so we double-check things. It’s better to spend an extra hour than to start over. We have some regulars who have been coming to us for years. They know how we work. We don’t do much advertising. People just find us or hear about us from someone else. It gets very busy during certain months. We try to keep the tea kettle going. It helps on the long afternoons when the energy starts to dip. Kanpur has a lot of history with this kind of work, and we are just a small part of that tradition. We try to stay organized but paperwork piles up on the desk sometimes. It is just life.
