Chacha Nehru Inter College

Based in Saket Nagar, our college has been a fixture in Kanpur for a long time now. We are an inter college, which means we focus on students who are finishing their final years of school before heading to university or work. The building itself is older and shows its age, but it has a lot of history within its walls. We have a set of classrooms and a small area where students gather. Our teachers are mostly people who have been with us for many years. They know the families in the area and understand the local community well. We don’t use any new-age teaching methods or fancy technology; we just stick to the traditional ways that have always worked for us. The big focus every year is the board exams, and we spend a lot of time making sure the students are ready for them. The hallways are usually full of students talking and moving between their classes. Kanpur is a very busy city, but inside the school, we try to keep things as orderly as possible. We don't have any polished corporate messaging. It’s just a local place run by local people who care about education. Parents come by often to see how their kids are doing, and we give them the honest truth. We manage with the resources we have and try to be a steady presence for the students here in our neighborhood.
