Mini Swiss Hotel

Mini Swiss Hotel is up in Khajjiar in the Chamba district. It’s a small place and we have been here for quite a while now. The weather can get really cold, especially in the winters, so we spend a lot of our time making sure the rooms stay warm for whoever is staying. Khajjiar is a quiet spot most of the year, though it gets busier when the tourists come to see the meadows. We don't have the big fancy facilities you might find in a city hotel. It’s more of a basic building that fits into the mountain setting. We do our own cleaning and we look after the property ourselves. Sometimes the power goes out when there is a storm, but we have ways to deal with it. Living and working in Chamba means things move a bit slower than in the plains. We don't mind that much. We wake up early to get things started and usually finish up once it gets dark. The air is fresh up here, which is nice. We aren't trying to be anything more than a place to sleep and rest. Most people who come here are just looking for a bit of peace. We keep the blankets thick and the floors swept. It’s a simple operation run by a few of us who know the area well. We don't have any corporate office or marketing department. It's just us at the front desk every day.
