Our taxi stand is over on Jogiwara Road, pretty close to the Yongling School. If you’re walking down that way, you’ll see our cars parked along the side. We’ve been driving these roads for a long time now. Mcleod Ganj roads are narrow and steep, so you really need to know what you’re doing behind the wheel. We handle trips down to the Dharamshala airport, or even longer drives to places like Manali or Amritsar. It’s not fancy work, but we take it seriously. The cars are kept as clean as we can, though the mountain dust always finds its way in. It’s a family-run sort of thing. Usually, there’s a few of us hanging around the office waiting for the next call. We don't have a big call center or anything like that. You just call the mobile or walk up to us. We know the traffic patterns here, especially when the weekend tourists arrive and everything slows down. If there’s a shortcut that saves twenty minutes, we know it. We try to be fair with the rates because news travels fast in a small town like this. If you need to get somewhere early in the morning before the buses start, we’re usually the ones people call. It’s just us and our cars, trying to make a living on these hills. The office is small but we are there most of the day and night if needed.
