S S V Brick Industries is located at number 26 in Salabogam. Being right near the Water Works is actually pretty handy for us because we need a steady supply for the mixing process. You probably see our trucks moving in and out of that area most days. It is a hardworking part of town and we fit right in with the other local trades. We spend our days mostly handling raw materials and making sure the firing process is going like it should. There is always a lot of smoke and heat around the place, which is just part of the job. Most of the people who work here live close by in the neighborhood. We don't have a big office or anything like that. We just have a small desk and some chairs where we sit and talk to customers who drop by. Most of the time, people just pull up and ask what we have available for their projects. We tell them what's ready and what needs more time to dry. It’s a very straightforward way of doing things. We don't use any big fancy machines for everything; a lot of it is still done by hand. Sometimes the deliveries get backed up if the truck has issues, but we try to sort it out as fast as we can. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and stacking all day long. We don't mind it much.
