Praveen Hollow Block

We are located at 62/54 Bus Stand Street in Arungulam. Being right near the bus stand means it gets pretty busy around here with people and traffic all day long. Praveen Hollow Block is just a small place, really. We started out with just a couple of molds and a small mixer. Now we have a bit more, but it’s still just a local yard. My family helps out sometimes when things get busy. We make standard hollow blocks that folks use for their compound walls or small sheds. It’s not fancy work, but it’s useful. You can usually find me at the yard from dawn till the sun goes down. The street is narrow, so sometimes getting the sand delivered is a bit of a headache, but we manage. I’ve lived in Arungulam my whole life, so I know most of the people who come to buy from us. We don’t have a website or anything like that. Most people just walk in or call me on my mobile. We try to keep the blocks curing for the right amount of time so they don't crack. It’s a lot of lifting and moving things around. The dust gets everywhere, even in my tea. But it’s a good life. We’re just a regular part of the neighborhood, doing what we can to help people build their homes. If you’re near the bus stand, you can’t miss us. It is just a basic shop.
