Mani Bricks

Mani Bricks is right there on Periyapalayam Main Road in Thirumurugapundi. Since we are on a main road, there is a lot of traffic passing by all day long. You hear the horns and the engines of the buses and cars constantly as they go towards the city. It makes the place feel very connected to the town, but it also means we get a lot of dust from the road on our bricks. The yard is filled with rows and rows of bricks. We spend our mornings checking the inventory and getting things ready for whoever might stop by with a truck. Thirumurugapundi is a place where people are always building something new, so there is usually a reason to be busy. We don't have any fancy office space. Mostly we just stand outside or sit in a small shed when the sun gets too hot in the afternoon. The bricks are heavy, and moving them is a lot of work, but that’s the business we’re in. People know Mani Bricks because we are right there on the road where everyone sees us every single day. It’s a straightforward setup. We don’t use any complicated systems, just some notebooks and the strength of our arms to get things done. If you are driving down Periyapalayam Main Road, you can't really miss us. We are just a local spot with a lot of bricks and not much else to show. It’s honest work and we stay busy with it from morning to night.
