D.V.D. Nursery And Primary School

Started this little place on Vaikuntapuram Street years ago because there weren't many schools right here in Kanchipuram for the small children. It’s a plain building, nothing fancy, but we have enough rooms for the nursery and primary kids to sit comfortably. Most of the staff live nearby, so we know the families pretty well. Every morning, the street gets busy with parents dropping off their little ones on cycles or walking them to the door. We spend a lot of time on basic stuff like reading and writing, and making sure the kids eat their lunch properly. The classrooms have big windows to let the air in, and sometimes you can hear the bells from the temples nearby during lessons. We keep the benches painted and the boards clean. It’s a lot of work keeping up with all these energetic kids, but it’s what we do every day from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes the rain makes the street a bit muddy, but the children don't seem to mind much as long as they get to see their friends. We have a small area where they can run around for a bit before the final bell rings. It isn't a huge campus with a swimming pool or anything like that, just a regular school where we try to keep things orderly and make sure the children learn what they need to. Most of us have been here a long time, watching the kids grow up and move on.
