Bishop Shalaman Sachool

Our school is over at 364/2A on the Sampathrayen Pettai Kutturoad. It’s a bit of a name to say, but everyone in Arakkonam knows the way. We’ve been operating out of this building for quite some time now. It’s a standard school setup with rows of benches and plenty of windows to let the air in. The location is convenient for most families around here. We don’t go in for anything flashy. The staff spends their time marking papers and getting the lessons ready. We have a daily schedule that everyone sticks to. When the bell rings, things move fast. During the breaks, you can hear the kids playing outside. We have a small yard for that. The walls have some charts and maps on them. It’s a lived-in space, not like a brand-new office. There’s always some maintenance to do, like fixing a leaky tap or a creaky door. We just handle it as it comes. People come to us because we are right here in the neighborhood. It’s an honest way to spend the day. We see the kids grow up from year to year. Sometimes we see the parents in the market and talk about how things are going. It’s a close-knit kind of place. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It feels right to be part of the community like this.
