Running a farm business from Guwahati is a bit different than being right in the middle of a field. Balvant Cluster Farms Private Limited is located at Flat 105 in the Prafulla Enclave on Dr B N Saikia Road. It is in the Survey Beltola area, which is usually quite crowded with traffic. We ended up setting up our main spot here because it makes the logistics and the paperwork side of things a lot easier to handle. Even though we are in a flat in the city, our hearts and our work are tied to the clusters of farms we manage. It is a lot of phone calls and coordinating between the growers and the people who buy the produce. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know the industry. The office is usually messy with files and maps of the different farm locations. It is a practical way to run things. We spend half our time in the city and the other half out where the actual planting happens. Kamrup can be a tough place to navigate, but we have been doing this long enough to know the shortcuts. There are no corporate speeches here. We are just trying to keep the supply moving so nothing goes to waste. It is a lot of coordination and making sure the timing is just right for every harvest.
