Lakhimi Farmer Producer Company Limited

Lakhimi Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in a place called Kaurehagi. Deben Thakuria is the one who helps keep our group together. We are just local farmers from the village who decided to work as one unit. The name Lakhimi means a lot to us around here, but the work is what really matters. We don't have a big corporate building or anything like that. We mostly just meet up at Deben’s or out in the fields to discuss what needs doing. Some days we are dealing with the irrigation, and other days we are trying to find a better way to get our goods to the town. It’s a lot of trial and error. We aren't experts in business; we are experts in the land we’ve lived on our whole lives. We try to help each other when someone’s tractor breaks down or when the seeds don't sprout like they should. The community in Kaurehagi is small, so we all know each other’s business anyway. This company is just our way of making sure we don't get left behind. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We just grow what we can and hope for a decent harvest at the end of the season. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. There isn't much more to it than that, just folks working together in the dirt.
