Vishwa Hindu College

Vishwa Hindu College is located in a pretty interesting spot in Kerala. We are on the floor right behind Maharaja Cafe in the Shambhognlli area. Being on College Road means there is always something going on outside our doors. The Aiwan-E-Shahi Area is usually full of life. It’s not a quiet place, but that’s just how it is in Malampuzha. Most of us who work here have been around this part of town for years. You can smell the coffee and the snacks from the cafe downstairs sometimes during the afternoon sessions. The building at 1-111/1A isn't brand new, but it's sturdy enough for what we need. We spend a lot of time organizing books and making sure the classrooms are ready for the next day. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stop, but the students don't seem to mind the exercise. Some days are much hotter than others, and we just keep the windows open to catch a breeze. It’s a simple setup we have here. No one is trying to be too formal. We just want to make sure the kids have a place to sit and learn their lessons. You’ll find the staff sitting together during lunch, usually talking about the local news or what’s happening in the market. It is a very normal place with regular people working hard every single day. We don't have big fancy gardens, just a few potted plants near the entrance stairs.
