Our school is tucked away in the Jayanagar area, located at Radhakrishna Nivas right on Sedam Road. It is a pretty quiet spot in Gulbarga for the most part, which really helps when the students are trying to focus on their lessons. We have been running this place for a good number of years now. It started out quite small and we have slowly added a few more rooms over time as more families moved into this part of the neighborhood. The morning assembly is usually the loudest part of our entire day. We do not have any air conditioning or fancy cooling systems, just basic ceiling fans that keep the air moving in the heat. Our staff comes from different parts of the city every morning. We spend most of our time on the basic subjects like reading, writing, and math because that is what matters most. We do not go for flashy things or big events. If a parent has a concern, they usually just come find one of us in the office and we sit down to talk it over with a glass of water. The playground is not very large, but there is enough space for a quick game of kho-kho or just running around during the break times. We take things one day at a time here. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to open the windows wider to let the light in. It is a simple life for us.
