You can find us at D.No. 6-80B in Makkenavaripalem, which is in Santhamaguluru. This is Guntur district, so as you can imagine, horticulture is a big deal around here. There are so many farmers growing things like chillies, citrus, and vegetables. Santhamaguluru Horticulture Farmers Producer Company Limited was set up just to help everyone get a bit more organized with their produce. The office is a small, simple place and we do not put on any airs. Most of our time is spent out in the orchards or talking to the growers about how their crops are coming along. Weather is the main thing we talk about every single day. If the rain does not come or if it comes too late, we all feel it. We help with the sorting and try to get the best transport we can to get the goods into Guntur or even further away. It involves a lot of phone calls and writing things down in big ledger books. We do not have much use for fancy computers, just the basics to keep things straight. It is honest work that keeps us on our toes from very early in the morning. People often stop by on their way home from the fields to have some tea and check the latest market rates. It is more of a community hub than a cold business office. We just want the horticulture in our village to stay strong for the next generation of farmers here.
