We are usually out in the sheds or checking on the birds. The address 2-83/2 is basically our second home. Poultry farming is a lot of work because the birds don't care if it's a holiday or a Sunday. They still need to be fed and looked after every single day. The air always smells a bit like feed and earth, which is something you just get used to. We deal with a lot of local folks who come by for business. It’s a very practical lifestyle. We don't have a marketing team or anyone like that. It’s just us doing the daily chores and making sure everything runs smoothly. Sometimes things go wrong, like a pump breaking or the heat getting too much for the birds, and we have to scramble to fix it. That's just part of the deal when you run a farm. We’ve been at this for a while and we know the routine by heart now. It is just steady, daily work.
